Principal's Message
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Welcome to Northern Valley Regional High School at Old Tappan, home of the Golden Knights. Old Tappan is one of two high schools in the Northern Valley District. Our students reside in the towns of Harrington Park, Northvale, Norwood, and Old Tappan. We offer multiple opportunities for students, parents, and community members to learn together, and to take part in numerous events throughout the year. I urge you to access our other sites on this Home Page or read our Student and Parent Handbooks to learn what Northern Valley has to offer.
Opportunity is our number one goal for all students. Whether their interests are centered on academics, athletics, or the arts, Northern Valley allows students the opportunity to be active in all areas. It offers students the chance to grow and participate with friends and family. We have over fifty clubs and activities to join and we offer twenty-seven Varsity, Junior Varsity, or Freshman sports. Our music department presents truly professional musical performances every season throughout the school year. Over eighty percent of our students participate in co-curricular activities. Student success in all areas helps rank us as one of the best schools in New Jersey.
Our parents and students have the support of our guidance counselors and a talented and dedicated faculty always doing their best to communicate with you and your child while at Northern Valley. Our parents support us by attending school events and by joining many of our parent groups. That support is nourished by parent education programs throughout the school year.
Northern Valley continues to be a gathering place for students and parents with diverse interests. Communication will keep us working together so that our children can experience success one step at a time. Together we can maintain the high standards that define what Northern Valley is all about.
