Each volume provides excerpts from book and magazine articles. Articles are arranged in each volume alphabetically by the author's name.  Indexes in the back of each volume provide a cross-index to all of the series printed by the same publisher. Author indexes are cumulative, so look in the highest numbered volume in each series. Title indexes can be found at the back of newer volumes.

1) Bloom's Literary Reference Online
Click on "Advanced Search."
Type your play title in the search box under, "With the exact phrase" and type one or more keywords for your paper topic into the box under, "With at least one of the words."  Limit results to: Biographies, Overviews and Synopses, Analyses and Criticism, Topics and Themes.
Look for "Page Tools" for printing, email, and citation information.

2) Literature Resource Center (Gale Cengage)*
Click on "Advanced Search."  Type in title of play as "Name of Work," author's name as "Person-By," and your paper topic as "Keyword."  Limit results by type of information: Literature Criticism, Biographies, Topics and Work Overviews, Reviews and News, Primary Sources, Multimedia.   
Look for "Page Tools" for printing, email, translation, and citation information.

3) Literary Reference Center  (EBSCO)*
Click on "Advanced Search." Type your title in the search box in quotation marks, then type in the author's name and your paper topic keyword(s). Make sure the radio button to the left of "Find all my search terms" is selected.
Select Literary Criticism from green and white navigation bar.

4) Learning Literature  
Input your title in the "Quick Search" box in quotation marks, then type in the author's name. Results will be displayed by type of resource. Scroll down to see the first five "Criticism" articles, then click "more."  
Citation information is displayed at the top of the page. Guidelines for creating the citation in MLA format is on the purple and orange navigation bar on the left.
